Malaysians heading back to their hometowns for Hari Raya will enjoy free toll on Monday, 8 April, and Tuesday, 9 April

According to the New Straits Times, the Works Ministry said the government has agreed to provide toll exemptions exclusively to all private cars for the two days in conjunction with the celebrations.

The toll exemptions will be implemented on all highways starting from 12.01am on 8 April, and ending at 11.59pm on 9 April

The compensation allocated by the government for the exemptions is estimated to cost RM37.6 million.

"Toll exemptions will be granted at all toll plazas except at border toll plazas, namely the Sultan Iskandar Building Toll Plaza and the Tanjung Kupang Toll Plaza in Johor.

"This toll exemption by the government is a gesture of concern and a shared joy with the Malaysian people," said the ministry in a statement.
